Message: I'm always amazed at the selection they have in such a small store. If you need expert help, this is the hardware store to visit, especially for plumbing. I discovered the store when going from store to store to find a solution to a plumbing issue. ACE wasn't helpful. Home Depot couldn't help, they didn't have any parts or even offer solution, but a customer told me to come here. The worker told me what I was looking for and offered multiple solutions to fix the problem. I've gone back a few times and always been impressed. This is what a local hardware store should be.

Message: I discovered M Tanaka store a few years ago after leaving the local Home Depot, frustrated that as a 'Do-it-yourselfer' I couldn't find what I needed and had a heck of a time even trying to find someone who could help.. I Googled 'plumbing Kauai' and found M Tanaka Store conveniently off Rice Street in Lihue. The worker (maybe the owner) spent time showing me multiple solutions to my plumbing problem. I left spending less than $10, but they earned my business from that moment forward. I've been back many times and regardless of who is working they are exceptionally knowledgeable and always willing to help. M Tanaka store has hands down the best customer service and I recommend them to anybody for their hardware needs.
